Scholarships: Dan & Billye Saunders Scholarship
Family and friends established this fund to honor long-time Martin County Sheriff Dan Saunders and his wife, Billye. It provides scholarships to assist residents of Martin County, Texas in continued education toward a career in law enforcement and criminal justice. Scholarships are based upon the following:
- Recipient must be a high school graduate and a resident of Martin County OR a graduate of Stanton High School.
- Recipient must pursue a degree in law enforcement or criminal justice and attend an accredited law enforcement academy or an accredited college or university in the state of Texas.
- Must be qualified for employment by a law enforcement or criminal justice agency in the State of Texas.
