Scholarships: Dick Harris Scholarship
This fund was created by Dick Harris to provide college scholarships to Hispanic male or female students who have graduated from Midland Independent School District high schools.
Mr. Harris' long career as an elementary school teacher and his many years as a Midland Scoutmaster helped determine the eligibility criteria for prospective recipients.
The fund was also created to honor the memory of Michael F. Avila, who was outstanding as a Scout in Troop 158 and as a role model in his troop, his family, and his friends.
