Scholarships: Bob and Dorothy Deavenport Scholarship
On December 24, 2003, a scholarship fund was created by the friends of Bob and Dorothy Deavenport, longtime Martin County citizens and community leaders to honor their service to Martin County and the Permian Basin area for over 50 years. After a lengthy illness, Judge Deavenport died on March 9, 2004 and additional gifts have been received as memorials to help build this permanent fund that will avail our youth education opportunities for generations to come.
This fund will provide scholarships based upon the following criteria:
- A senior who will graduate in May from either Stanton High School or Grady High School.
- Attend a junior college or four-year college or university.
- Students must have an 85 overall grade average for the four years of high school and must submit a transcript showing the first 3 years grades and a copy of the 4th six weeks report card for the fourth year grades. If you have concurrent college credit, please attach your college transcript.
