2009 scholarship information available on Permian Basin Area Foundations website
February 13, 2009 MIDLAND, Texas Permian Basin Area Foundation has initiated college scholarship application and selection processes for the 2009 fall semester. Students and counselors can view eligibility, selection criteria, and application forms on-line at the Foundations website www.pbaf.org in the SCHOLARSHIPS section. The application deadline for most scholarships is March 31, 2009.
During the 2008-2009 college year, Permian Basin Area Foundation awarded 124 scholarships totaling more than $196,000 to assist area students with costs of higher education.
Education is vital to economic success today, said Bill Fowler, chairman of the Foundations Board of Governors. Permian Basin Area Foundation is pleased to administer this program that offers meaningful support for students pursuing higher education and vocational training.
The Foundation welcomes opportunities to serve donors who may wish to create charitable funds for the purpose of providing scholarships.
Establishing a scholarship fund with the Foundation is very simple, yet a very significant and meaningful way of leaving a lasting legacy to the community or remembering a teacher, friend or loved one, according to Guy McCrary, president and CEO of Permian Basin Area Foundation.
