Fort Davis establishes fund to fulfill vision for higher education

PhotoThe Fort Davis Higher Education Foundation has established its endowment with Permian Basin Area Foundation. Organized and incorporated in 2002, the Education Foundation embraced the vision of then-superintendent of Fort Davis Independent School District, Scott Barton, that scholarships for higher education be made available for all qualifying graduates of Fort Davis High School. That vision is now a reality as resources grow each year. In fact, since 2003, every college-qualified graduating senior who applied has received a scholarship. We are honored to partner with the good folks of Fort Davis in this worthy mission.

As part of fulfilling our mission of advancing philanthropy in the Permian Basin, the Foundation seeks to develop charitable funds that serve needs of the region’s smaller communities. The Foundation is uniquely positioned to efficiently offer an array of management services while aligning with local community leaders who know best local needs for grant making.

The map shown below indicates communities for which the Foundation currently stewards community funds. If you would like to explore how to create a charitable legacy for your community, we invite you or your professional advisor to call Guy McCrary at 432.617.3213.
