Ted Lawson was raised in Levelland, Texas, and moved to Midland at age 15. He graduated from Midland High School in 1958 and Sul Ross University in 1962. Mr. Lawson created several successful oil and gas service companies and was a recognized leader in the Permian Basin oil and gas industry. The Ted Lawson Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by Von Dean Lawson, in Ted’s memory, to provide scholarships for married couples who are in pursuit of a college education, with preference given to applicants attending Sul Ross University.
