During 2006, the Foundation made a grant for new warehouse equipment to West Texas Food Bank, based in Odessa, which distributes groceries and other household commodities to more than 100 community service providers all over west Texas for re-distribution to families in need. Among these community service providers is the Martin County Food Pantry in Stanton operated under the Martin County Community Fund. In our dual roles as grantmaker and steward of endowment funds, the Foundation has a uniquely comprehensive perspective about permanent philanthropy in our region and the inter-relationships of nonprofit organizations.

The goal of the $15 million TRIAD Fund collaborative is to expand assistance to American military personnel and their families who have unmet needs due to death, injury, or other physical or mental detriment, or financial hardship, as a result of service in Iraq or Afghanistan. The Foundation is honored to be a part of this initiative, which is further described at
The Andrews Community Endowment Fund was established in 2006 to support higher education opportunities and training of workforce skills for citizens of Andrews, including scholarships for graduates of Andrews High School. This new Endowment was initiated by the City of Andrews in partnership with the Foundation. The development of charitable funds directed for specific communities is a means for the Foundation to expand the potential impact of philanthropy into smaller communities of the Permian Basin region and provide capacity to receive bequests and other planned gifts for the benefit of your hometown. The Martin County Community Fund, established in 1993 is a great example of this concept. In addition to Andrews and Martin County, work is also currently underway to build the Ward County Community Endowment.
