Component Funds - Permanent Funds Supporting Agencies

These funds are created to benefit specific agencies or to accomplish a specific purpose within those agencies.

Abell-Hanger/Permian Basin Area Foundation Administrative Fund – This fund was created as part of a matching grant initiative created by the Abell-Hanger Foundation and provides permanent administrative support for Permian Basin Area Foundation.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midland Endowment Fund – The income from this fund provides program support for children from single-parent and no-parent homes.

Buffalo Trail Council Endowment Fund - This fund was established with a gift in memory of Bruno Hansen to support the youth development programs offered by the Boy Scouts to the West Texas region.

Bynum School Endowment Fund – The income from this fund provides funds for Bynum School programs and services including an educational day program, speech therapy, parent training, extended day program, pre-vocational and vocational training, and at-risk and learning disabilities program.

Centers for Children & Families Endowment Fund§ - This fund supports the programs of the Centers for Children & Families, which include counseling, educational and supportive services to manage successfully the challenges of life.

City of Midland Aquatics Endowment Fund§ - This fund was established to support aquatics and fitness programs for individuals of all ages and to provide for the capital maintenance and improvement of COM aquatics facilities.

Christmas in Action Endowment Fund – The income from this fund is used to provide home repairs for low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners.

Clinic for the Community Children’s Ministry Endowment Fund – The income from this fund supports the Community Children’s Clinic which provides health care services for children of need in Midland.

Ellen Noël Art Museum of the Permian Basin Permanent Fund§ - This fund supports the Ellen Noël Art Museum, which offers opportunities for education and the appreciation of the visual arts. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

The Ellen Noël Art Museum of the Permian Basin offers art appreciation and education opportunities to people of all ages and interests. The George and Milly Rhodus Sculpture and Sensory Garden was added to the Museum's campus in 1998 to serve the needs of folks with visual impairments. A grant from the Foundation supports the maintenance of the Garden.

Friends of the Crockett County Library Endowment Fund - This fund was created by supporters of the Crockett County Library in Ozona. Resources from the endowment will be used to support the library’s operations and maintenance.

Globe of the Great Southwest Permanent Fund§ - This fund supports the Globe of the Great Southwest, which provides theatre arts entertainment and education programs. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

Harmony Home Children’s Advocacy Center Endowment Fund – The income from this fund is used to provide services of support and advocacy to children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse.

Heritage of Odessa Founders Permanent Fund§ - This fund supports the preservation of historical assets for the Odessa community. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

Hillcrest School Endowment* – This fund was created by the school to provide funds for its education programs for students with dyslexia and attention-deficit disorder.

Junior League of Odessa Endowment Fund§ - This fund was established to support the ongoing community service programs of the Junior League of Odessa.

Martin County Convent Endowment Fund – The income from this fund is used for the purpose of restoring and maintaining the historic structure and grounds known as the Martin County Convent in Stanton, Texas.

Midland Odessa District of the National Kidney Foundation of West Texas Endowment Fund§ - This fund supports programs and services for persons with kidney disorders and disease who live in the Permian Basin region.

Midland/Odessa Symphony & Chorale Endowment Fund – The income from this fund supports the Symphony’s role of serving the West Texas area in an educational and entertainment capacity through symphonic, chamber, and chorale music.

Midland Rape Crisis Center Endowment Fund – The income from this fund helps provide services of support and advocacy to victims of sexual assault and to their loved ones as they journey through the medical, legal, and emotional maze to resolution.

Nonprofit Management Center of the Permian Basin Administrative Fund – This fund is used to offset the administrative costs of the recently established Nonprofit Management Center of the Permian Basin, a program of Permian Basin Area Foundation to aid and strengthen nonprofits across the region.

Parker House Ranching Museum Permanent Fund§ - This fund supports the Parker House Ranching Museum, which promotes historical education and the appreciation and conservation of historical structures and artifacts. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

Permian Basin Area Foundation Administrative Endowment – The income from this fund is used to offset the administrative costs of the Foundation.

Permian Basin Girl Scout Council Endowment Fund – The income from this fund is used by the Council to provide funds for its operations and programs supporting Girl Scouting.

Permian Playhouse of Odessa Permanent Fund§ - This fund supports the Permian Playhouse, which provides theatre arts entertainment and education programs. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

Petro-Plains Council of Camp Fire – The fund provides resources for operations and programs offered through Camp Fire to youth of the region.

Presidential Museum Permanent Fund§ - This fund supports the Presidential Museum located in Odessa, which promotes historical education and the appreciation of the office of the Presidency of the United States. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

Recording Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Inc. Endowment Fund – The income from this fund helps provide cassette books, playback equipment, and other services to the visually or physically impaired.

Safe Place of the Permian Basin Endowment Fund – The income from this fund provides services for female and child victims of family violence.

Teen Challenge of the Permian Basin Endowment Fund§ - This fund supports Teen Challenge of the Permian Basin, which provides programs for people with life-controlling problems to improve life through the teaching of Biblical principles, developing Christian discipleship and sustaining spiritual growth through relationships with family, church and community.

United Way/Jack Steele Fund – This fund helps offset the administrative costs of the United Way of Midland, enabling its member agencies to receive more support from contributions raised through the annual campaign.

West Texas Food Bank Endowment Fund – The income from this fund is used to provide services to collect and redistribute wholesome food to agencies feeding the needy, ill, elderly or very young.

White-Pool House Friends Permanent Fund§ - the White-Pool House Friends organization, which promotes the preservation of the White-Pool House and other historically important treasures located in Odessa. It is a partner in the Odessa Endowment for the Arts & History.

Notes:

§ - The Foundation is pleased to make mention of these funds which were created subsequent to December 31, 2001. Donors to these funds will be reflected in the 2002 Annual Report.

Permian Basin Area Foundation administers a number of other funds, the donors to which have requested anonymity.

Funds of the Foundation are open to additional tax-deductible contributions. We also welcome the opportunity to visit with donors about creating new component funds for charitable purposes.
