Component Funds - Designated Funds
Designated Funds are created by donors who want to benefit named charitable organizations or to accomplish a specific purpose.
Royce Everett Memorial Fund for Special Olympics This fund was established in memory of Odessa native Royce Everett by her family and friends. Resources from this fund support the senior Special Olympics games in which Royce was active for more than 26 years.
Mary Wynn Hinkle/Casa de Amigos Fund This memorial fund was created by family and friends of Mary Wynn Hinkle, long-time Executive Director of Casa de Amigos. Income from this fund is used to support programs and the work of Casa in serving the citizens of south and east Midland.
Betsy Puckett Fund for Bynum School A recipient of services from the Bynum School Vocational Program, Betsy Puckett created this Fund before her death to support the school. Income from the Fund will be distributed to Bynum School.
Youth Outreach Ministries is a new program designed to improve academic skills, increase self-esteem and develop positive attitudes about learning and school. The Foundation assisted the initiation of the program with a grant for the purchase of computer equipment.
Nancy Vann Rea Midland Introspective Fund This memorial fund was created by the United Way of Midland, as well as friends and family of Nancy Vann Rea, long-time Midland community volunteer. The income from this fund is used to support programs and projects identified through periodic human needs assessment.
Permian Basin Girl Scout Council Pamela Catherine Rebel Haas Memorial Camp Scholarship Fund This fund was created by Catherine Kellner in memory of her daughter. Income from the fund helps provide scholarships for the Girl Scouts Camp Mitre Peak riding program.
United Way Permanent Fund This fund was created by the United Way of Midland to provide a vehicle through which donors may make perpetual gifts. The income from this fund provides support to those agencies served under the United Way umbrella.
Notes:
§ - The Foundation is pleased to make mention of these funds which were created subsequent to December 31, 2001. Donors to these funds will be reflected in the 2002 Annual Report.
Permian Basin Area Foundation administers a number of other funds, the donors to which have requested anonymity.
Funds of the Foundation are open to additional tax-deductible contributions. We also welcome the opportunity to visit with donors about creating new component funds for charitable purposes.
