Legacy Story - Pat Cobb
Patricia Cobb served the school children of Midland for 30 years. Her first position was as a first grade teacher at Bowie Elementary. For much of her career, she served as a guidance counselor at Midland High School and was instrumental in creating and directing special programs for the District.
Mom had a true passion for education and children, said Jane Ann Hejmanowski, Mrs. Cobbs daughter. Her ability to make family, friends and students feel important, special and loved was her greatest strength.
She was devoted to her students and always made an extra effort to help them make good choices, remembers Devin Alsup, a Midland attorney and friend of the family who attended Midland High during Mrs. Cobbs tenure there. She had a unique ability to make students feel important, and was always willing to help with their daily problems.

Pat Cobb
After retiring from Midland Independent School District in 1990, Mrs. Cobb established a private counseling practice. She was living in Switzerland at the time of her death in 2001.
As a tribute to her life of devotion to learning and education, her family and friends created the Patricia Cobb Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships from the fund are awarded annually to Midland High School graduates who were active in athletics.
This scholarship will ever remind others of Pat Cobbs devotion to learning and the success it can bring in life.
