Photo - Scott Seator

1996

Scott Seator was a bright, gregarious, hardworking young man with a promising career in the professional sports business. But a rare cancer ended his life in 1996. Scott's parents, and the many friends he had made during his five-year tenure with Midland's professional baseball team, wanted to create a legacy of his life, and established a permanent component fund of the Foundation. The Scott Seator/Midland Rockhounds Memorial Fund now provides funding for activities and programs for young people throughout the Permian Basin.

"Scott was a very special person with a great love of sports and a great commitment to serving the youth of our community. Through the Fund at Permian Basin Area Foundation, Scott's example of courage and service to young people will live on. - Monty Hoppel, General Manager of Midland Rockhounds
